Background/History:
This is just a quick background\history until I get around to fleshing it out.
Kaltok was born to a small tribe of Shu’halo who stayed largely in Northern Feralas. The son of a Brave, he grew up training to be a protector of the tribe as well. He and two other Shu’halo, Azok and Bron, were inseparable from birth. When they reached the age of 49, all three went to their chieftain and told him they wished to become adults among their tribe and what would their rite of adulthood be. The chieftain told them to retaliate against a centaur camp that had recently attacked one of the tribe’s hunting parties. They came up with a plan to sneak up to the village in the night and set fire to it, before returning to the tribe. They donned their war paint and fasted for a day to purify their bodies in preparation for what they were about to do.
They snuck up to a small rise overlooking the centaur camp and spent the day watching them from up there. When night came they slowly made their way to the camp unlit torches in hand. As they entered the camp they lit their torches. The light from the torches, to light the buildings aflame, the torches illuminated a group of centaur warriors blocking their path. The centaur let out shrieks and alerted the rest of the rest camp. Kaltok and his companions were stunned, but quickly recovered, letting out war cries of their own as they charged the small band of centaur, hoping to take a few down before running back to the tribe’s camp. However, they were inexperienced fighters, compared to the centaur and Azok was quickly struck down. Bron fell almost immediately afterwards. Kaltok, seeing his two friends slain and looking up to see more centaur charging from every direction, turned and fled, leaving his friends’ bodies in the camp. Kaltok ran all the way back to his tribe and explained what happened. He had shamed the tribe, not only by fleeing, but by leaving his friends’ bodies to the centaurs. He was exiled from the tribe that very night. He spent the next 3 years wandering the wilderness, stopping by other small tribes he stumbled upon and exchanging the stories he remembered from his tribe, for food and shelter. Eventually, one of the shamans of these tribes took Kaltok under his wing after hearing his own story and began to teach him the ways of the elements. Kaltok only studied under him for a year, before the old shaman died. Kaltok began wandering again, until he came into Mulgore, where he found the Earthspear.
