What are rites?
Well, they're a task assigned to you upon request. They will be a test of your RP abilities primarily but also hopefully something you can enjoy. Completing them will earn your character the rank of Kin among the tribe.
Are there any pre-requisites?
Only that you have been an active member of the guild for ten days, that way we know we're not wasting our time coming up with them!
How challenging will they be?
Impossible to determine, they could be easy or they could be hard. It all depends on what the officer comes up with, it will be almost certainly doable though.
What will they involve?
Again, that depends. You can be given a basic scenario and with your imagination will be required to come up with something OOC for your character to play out. Other times the scenario will be layed out for you, though you will have the flexibility to RP it in whatever way your character would. What you actually do will depend on your level and class.
Am I allowed to ask for help?
You can ask the officer that assigned the rites to you for OOC help should you need it. But the rites from an IC perspective are to be completed alone without any direct assistance from any other tribe members or players unless specified otherwise.
What if I fail them? Can I retake them?
Should you fail, you will have to wait until you are given a new scenario by one of the officers. There is no penalty for failure.
Is there a time limit?
Only if specified. Usually though you are free to complete your rites in your own time.
If I don't like the rites I have been given, can I ask for new ones?
If you have an issue with them, you are free to bring it up with whoever assigned the rites to you. If they agree, you will be given new rites.
Great, so now I know all this about how to do my rites. Now, how do I ask for them?
Simply create a thread in the 'Rites' sub-section of the roleplaying board, with either and in-character or out-of-character request to receive your rites.
The title of the thread should be formatted as such: <Name>'s Rites. (<class>)
An officer of the appropriate class will reply in your thread with your rites, and your instructions on how to complete them.
